When You're a Gay Celeb, Filthy Language is OKAY

Elton John – what a class act. In a recent profanity laced interview with an Australian TV program, Elton attacks Madonna – again. Calling her current tour a “ f***ing disaster,” and that “it couldn’t happen to a bigger c**t,” he goes on to say she had to prove that she could do it all and that “she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper.”

What’s really disgusting about this is Elton John is now, with his partner David Furnish, a father to a 19-month-old baby. Is this acceptable language coming from a dad? Is this how he’s going to teach his son? And why isn’t anyone saying anything about his language?

At the Golden Globes this year, Madonna and Elton were both up for awards and in an interview with Carson Daily, Elton said Madonna “Hasn’t got a f***ing chance.”

Madonna’s song “Masterpiece” did in fact win and Elton’s partner David took to Facebook and posted – “Madonna, best song???? F***off!!!”

In the Aussie interview Elton says, “And just by saying this, I’ve, of course, laid my cards on the table. For yes, Madonna, I have at last plucked the Cosmic Spear from the hands of Thanos, for today is the day of your reckoning. Just as I know I love c**k know that your dark reign is at an end, you gypsy warbler, I’ll slap you f***ing silly.”

Umm… what? Does anyone know what he’s talking about? Is this appropriate speech for the father of a young child, or any age child for that matter? Why does he get away with this kind of talk? Because he’s gay and if it’s coming from someone gay, it’s ok? After all, we don’t want to ruffle any gay feathers.

During the interview, Elton proudly displays pictures and video of his son, Zachary, whom he obviously adores and is, pardon the pun, gaga over. But the issue here is a man, now a father, speaking out in this manner, using the language he does, against someone in his own industry, someone who has enjoyed an immensely successful career and has proven staying power.

The feud actually dates back to 2004, when Elton had accused Madonna of lip-syncing during her world tour.

Lady Gaga, who is godmother to Elton and David’s little boy, is at the center of the feud. In an interview with 20/20, Madonna said of Gaga, she reminded her of “me back in the day,” but Madonna also seemed a little miffed that Gaga’s song “Born this way” “sounded very familiar.”

Madonna heaped praise on Gaga again and again, saying she was very talented and that she was very impressed by her, but also stated “she makes references to me in a lot of her work… obviously I’ve influenced her.”

It was those statements that prompted Elton to say Madonna has been “so horrible to Gaga.” It seems Elton just can’t say enough negative things about Madonna.

I think it’s time Elton and his partner learn to act like responsible parents, clean up their language, and keep their opinions to themselves. This kind of talk wouldn’t be acceptable from any other celebrity, and it shouldn’t be acceptable from Elton John or his partner.
